As an all-around technology veteran, software developer, award-winning creative director, and virtual reality storyteller, Tietzel serves as the CEO and Founder of Start VR.
A respected digital thought leader in the Australian VR community, Tietzel serves as the Kaleidoscope Australia Community Director, leads the Sydney VR Meetup Group and is a founding member of the AVRN (Australian Virtual Reality Network).
Tietzel is an expert on bringing cutting-edge creative concepts to market, demonstrated by his time as the original Creative Director for MassMedia Studios, building an award-winning creative team and leading the creative and strategy.
Tietzel was the Co-Founder, Creative & Marketing Director of Fotomerchant.com, building the brand from the ground up to become the most powerful photography sales engine on the planet.
Starting off life in Film and TV in the 90’s, Nathan transitioned over to digital at the height of the dotcom bubble and has forged a career in multiplatform and transmedia.
Working with brands and companies such as Foxtel, Disney, ABC, BBC and NBCU, Nathan has produced digital properties across all known platforms.
For Nathan, VR is the logical next step is his journey to drive the evolution of interactive entertainment and experiences.
Head of Content
Martin has been creating standout content for 20 years, with over 150 screen credits in every area of production. He has produced work for more than 65 commercial clients and with 10 broadcasters in 5 countries.
Though it seems all roads have lead Martin to be working in Virtual Reality.
Award-winning international filmmaker and former industrial designer, trained in human perception and viewer psychology; an avid dreamer with a flair for hand crafting beautiful human stories.
These are qualities that combine to make magical VR experiences and why Martin heads up our content division.
Head of Development
A seasoned technologist, Jaeger’s career has focused on the development, management and use of technology. His experience includes directing corporate IT services, and infrastructure projects.
He co-founded the award winning digital media agency, Circul8 creating a diverse range of projects from large scale cross platform campaigns, to complex brand sites for multi-national companies; as well as e-commerce implementations, interactive video, interactive games, and smartphone tech.
Jaeger’s experience, ability and his ambition to explore the forefront of the use of technology make him the perfect choice to head up Start VR’s development program in this fast changing field.
Director of Creative Services
After more than ten years directing television, TVCs, documentaries and brand marketing comms, Angus made the shift into digital – launching Southern Cross Austereo’s digital video strategy, before establishing Nova Entertainment’s websites as the fastest growing entertainment sites in Australia.
He’s worked with a range of artists and clients including Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, U2 & Coldplay, Optus, Coca Cola Amatil, and Qantas.
With the explosion of Virtual Reality, he now specialises in devising creative, commercially-driven VR content-marketing experiences; delivering strong connections between brands and consumers, driving engagement, growth, and new revenue streams.
Director of Business Development
Previously based in the United States, Tina brings over a decade of experience selling Branded Entertainment, Mobile Apps and Virtual Reality experiences.
Most recently Tina was integral in growing the VR branding portfolio for a VFX and Animation studio; closing large-scale Live Action and Computer Generated VR projects with advertising agencies and brands across multiple industries. Clients included US Airforce, American Express, AT&T, Disney and Verizon.
Collaborating with clients and bringing their VR concepts to life is what excites Tina the most.
